A brief history of Faith Assembly of God
Faith Assembly of God Church began in September 1955, with 54 Charter Members. The first church building was located at 33rd and Broadway, a main thoroughfare on the east edge of town. In 1984, construction began on our current facility. It is a geodesic dome structure comprised of a 3-dome pod. We are located at 4000 State Street, also considered the east part of Quincy, in a residential neighborhood.
Beginning in 1974 and continuing to be a vital part of Faith Assembly, our Kiddie Korner Daycare, ministers to ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age. It has an average attendance capacity of 99. Their focus is on meeting the needs of the whole child, providing care for children of all faiths and races, respecting gender, ability differences, cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds.
In 1987, the ‘New Wine’ program began. It is a support group ministry focusing on people helping people overcome their problem, fears, and addictions. The name has changed to Addicts Victorious and has become a self-supporting worldwide ministry. We feel honored to have been the vessel that God used to begin this mighty ministry.
We strongly believe in and support both foreign and home missions. In response to the needs of missionaries in other nations, each year the opportunity is given for men and women to participate with the MAPS Program. Over the years, we have sent numerous teams to El Salvador, Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium and Vienna, Austria.
Worship is an itegeral part of every believers life. Our worship style is contemporary with a mix of traditional songs and choruses. Our praise team will help lead you into the presence of God.
